Winter Garden Farmers Market

Today we drove down to Winter Garden for their farmer's market. The town is so cute with cobble stone streets and a new pavilion for events and the farmer's market.

From their website:
"Winter Garden is a desirable place to live and a local gathering place for residents within Central Florida.

Nestled on beautiful Lake Apopka about 20 minutes west of Orlando, this former citrus town established in 1908 is home to over 40,000 residents and embodies a wealth of historical and natural assets. Winter Garden is known for its many recreational amenities, events and historical assets that make it a great place to live and visit. The Historic Downtown, listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, is a favorite destination for West Orange residents and those traveling the award-winning West Orange Trail, which will soon be part of the 250 mile Coast to Coast (C2C) Connector Trail.

Winter Garden is the commercial and cultural capital of West Orange County with regional amenities such as the Garden Theatre, the SoBo Gallery and Art Center, several museums and the Downtown Pavilion, which is home to the Winter Garden Farmers Market that is held every Saturday morning. The farmers market has been recognized nationally and is one of the top regional farmers markets in Florida. Visit the Winter Garden Farmers Market website for more information."

Just down the street is the Plant Street Market which has its own brewery and food court.  The inside is like a mini Faneuil Hall Market in Boston.  Outside were tables to drink & eat at.

We shared a picnic table with two couples, one from town and their brother & wife visiting from Maryland for the weekend.  they told us that they loved the town and live in a community right down the road with Craftsman style houses called Oakland Park.  Elly & I decided that a visit to the neighborhood is planned for some day in the next few weeks.  Sounds promising!.
