More Wildlife in our Backyard

Just yesterday morning, while we were drinking our coffee, the elusive Baltimore Oriole appeared again at out bird feeders. This time he hung around long enough for me to take a snapshot.

Then just a few moments later, the red fox appeared again and snatched up one of the grey squirrels.

I also managed to get a video  of him running away with his dinner!

Easter Phoebes Have Left The Premises.

Throughout the last few days, it seemed like the two little babies were stretching their wing and getting ready to fly.

The next day, they were gone. "Flew the coop" so to speak! Last year they came back for a second family a few months later.  Time will tell.

Eastern Phoebe Birds in the Garage - 4th Straight Year!

For the past 4 years, and Eastern Phoebe couple has taken up residence in our
garage.  Check here for last years Blog Post. Their nest has been built on top of my fishing poles, so I haven't been fishing in four years.  They have been adding on to the nest each year, but I really don't think that they can add any more after this year.  There is just not enough headroom.

The nest after 4 years of additionals & renovations

I don't know what to do! should I remove part of it, builds a shelf and lower it, or just leave it alone and they will figure it out.

Birds at our Feeders

This year we have had quite a few birds feasting at our feeders. Its a joy yo watch them. The usual birds are here; Cardinals, Grosbeaks, Cow Birds, Blue Jays, Tufted Titmouse, Purple Finches, Wood Peckers, and Flickers.  This year we also have Red-Winged Black Birds, an Indigo Bunting and once we saw a Baltimore Oriole..  And the turkeys are still here.

As we were driving down tour neighbors driveway, we saw this owl on the tree, so we stopped and watched and took this picture. There is so much wildlife here.

During all this rain, our irises out out in full bloom. Wish we could spend some time outdoors just looking at them. They are beautiful this year.
